Sadly, "Big Jim" Furniss passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at his home in Clearwater, Florida Sunday Morning, May 28th, 2007.  He was 67 years old.  He is survived by his wife Betty, his son James Steven, his Sister Phyllis Harvey and his Mother Blanche Rapp Furniss. He has left behind an incredible legacy of close friends, fond memories and a fantastic collection of original artwork featured on this site. The Computer Artwork that you are about to see was created completely freehand using a mouse cursor as a paint brush and editing tool. Most of the computer art Jim saw in the past is bizarre to the point of no return. Some of his work may be considered in that realm, however, most pieces follow a specific theme or concept. When he first began to do this a few years ago, he had never intended to produce works commercially. He figured it was just a way to release some energy and at the same time get some creative juices flowing. Once he had printed out some of his pieces and his friends began to see them almost everyone one said he should sell them. He carried around a portfolio to show people and they loved it!
